About withSimplicity

We could not be more excited to announce the launch of our very own nail polish line! We have 10 beautiful colors, a clear top coat, cuticle balm, and a soy-based nail polish remover that we have been working long and hard on since January of this year. From our deep cherry shade to our peppy pink, these polishes are free of 15 harmful chemicals/ingredients that can be found in most nail polishes on the market today. Creating a nail polish line free from as many toxic ingredients as possible was so incredibly important to withSimplicity, and we could not be more proud of the fact that our nail polish is currently one of the cleanest, long-lasting nail polishes on the market that is made in the USA.

If you pre-order from now until September 14th, you will receive FREE SHIPPING on your nail collection order!

Polish with a purpose

If that isn't exciting enough, we partnered up with the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank located in Verona, Virginia. Their mission is to "provide nourishing food to our neighbors in need through vibrant community partnerships and passionate public support." Since withSimplicity is concerned with what our customers put on their bodies, we wanted to partner with a non-profit that cared about what is put into someone's body. When you purchase a withSimplicity 15 Free Nail Polish, we take a portion of the cost to donate one meal to someone in need for every polish purchase . To us, this polish is more than a healthy alternative, it is a polish with a purpose. Please feel free to learn more about the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank's Mission, Vision, and Values on their website.

15 ingredients our nail polish is free from

NO Formaldehyde

The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) classifies formaldehyde as a human carcinogen. Used as a preservative, nail hardener, and strengthener.

NO Formaldehyde Resin

Formaldehyde Resin is a derivative of formaldehyde and is often used as a hardener. In large doses, it can be a skin allergen.

NO dibutyl phthalate (DBT)

DBT is traditionally used as a solvent for dyes and as a plasticizer that prevents nail polishes from becoming brittle. Several studies show, however, that DBT affects the reproductive system and is linked to cancer,

NO Toulene

Toulene is used in nail products to suspend the color and form a smooth finish across the nail. Toulene is a chemical known to cause developmental and reproductive toxicity, organ system toxicity, irritation to skin.

NO Camphor

Added to nail polish to create a desirable high-shine, glossy effect. Causes skin irritation, nausea, headaches, and liver dysfunction.

NO Ethyl Tosylamide

Ethyl Tosylamide is used primarily as plasticizer and film former in coatings like nail polish. This ingredient has been barred from personal care products in Europe due to its antibiotic properties and concern over antibiotic resistance.

NO Xylene

Scoring an 8 on EWG's website, Xylene is a known allergen by causing irritation to the skin, eyes, and lungs, is toxic to non-reproductive organs, and is a known carcinogen. Most nail polishes contain Xylene so that the polish will not get gloppy.

NO triphenyl phosphate (TPHP)

Also known as TPP,  triphenyl phosphate has been used in most nail polish as a plasticizer which makes the polish flexible yet durable. It is known for disrupting endocrine system (hormones), metabolism, and the reproductive system.

NO Parabens

A broad term for several chemical ingredients known for their preservation properties.  While the FDA has not banned parabens, they have been known to mimic estrogen, causing hormonal problems.

Creates a glittery an shimmery look in nail polish, but is known to cause irritation and sensitization such as redness, itching, rashes and inflammation. Is also an animal derivative.

NO Methylisothiazolinone (MIT)

Similar to parabens, it is another chemical preservative added to cosmetics to extend their shelf life and not cause bacteria to form. It is associated with allergic reactions and irritation to eyes, skin, and lungs.

NO Hydroquinone Monomethyl Ether (MEHQ)

MEHQ prevents polymerization (curing) of acrylic materials and detergents in gel nail polish. Can cause skin irritations like eczema and scaling.

NO Gluten

Gluten is a wheat derivative and is used to quench dry skin, support collagen production, and can help to prevent scarring. In this instance, it is added to nail polish to add strength to nails. However, several people have gluten-intolerances, especially those with Celiac's Disease. It can cause serious reactions to those with those intolerances, which is why it is not in our polish.

NO Fragrance

For obvious reasons, most nail polishes contain some sort of artificial fragrance. However, fragrance is not just one ingredient; each fragrance is made up of multiple ingredients. Fragrance can be derived from plants (i.e. fruits, flowers, resins), animals (i.e. ambergris, musk, honeycomb) or synthetic sources (i.e. white musk, terpenes, salicylates). Companies are not required to list what ingredients they use as their fragrance, which gets rid of a sense of transparency that our company likes to have. Fragrances could contain petrochemicals, phthalates, carcinogens, and even endocrine-disruptors,

Animal derivatives, simply put, is any ingredients that comes directly from an animal. Mostly used in cosmetics and nail polish for color and texture. We have excluded animal derivatives from our products because we believe in vegan-friendly products, and we love our furry friends too much to hurt them!
